Executive Bio

John Perez, has over 25 years mortgage banking experience.  He is presently a Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer for NovaMac Funding, a division of Pacific Lending LLC.  NovaMac Funding is a multi-state direct mortgage lender.

Prior to NovaMac, John served as Vice President of National Sales for Perl Mortgage, a regional Midwest lender, the Lending Company and All Home Lending. During his tenure at The Lending Company (Retail Lending) and All Home Lending (Wholesale and Retail), he grew total mortgage loan originations by 300% and 800% respectively.  

Mr. Perez has been in the banking and mortgage banking industry since the mid 1980’s.  He has held several senior executive management roles throughout his career with Fortune 50 federally chartered depository and mortgage banking institutions such as Home Federal Savings and Loan (6th largest Savings and Loan in the country), Wells Fargo Bank (top 3 banks in the country) , Fremont Bank, AMRESCO, New Century (largest prime/non-prime lender in the country) and others. He also owned a small mortgage bank Clarus Financial for several years then sold the company prior to the mortgage meltdown crisis. He is responsible for originating billions in real estate secured mortgage backed securities throughout his career in retail, wholesale, correspondent, affinity and bulk acquisition mortgage business channels.  

John has extensive knowledge and experience with start-ups, mortgage loan origination and marketing technologies, secondary marketing, capital markets, retail, wholesale, correspondent, affinity and bulk acquisition loan sales.  Mr. Perez is also well versed in managing from an executive level all aspects of a mortgage lending platform.  

John has been an honorary police officer with the Long Beach Police Department (Gang Enforcement Unit, National Mortgage Fraud Taskforce) for approximately 15 years.  He has a wife of 24 years, two boys and currently resides in Orange County, California.
